Wireless headsets can now partially replace medical devices for patients diagnosed with hearing loss.

Apple headphones can be used by people with hearing loss. Bloomberg writes about it.

The American company intends to expand the capabilities of the AirPods series gadgets. In particular, it is planned to update the headset so that it meets the requirements of devices for people with hearing loss.

In fact, Apple engineers will turn AirPods into hearing aids within the next year.

It is also noted that the IT giant has several patents related to the use of headphones as a medical device.

They have sensors hidden in the headset that calculate pulse and body temperature.

In November 2022, an international team of scientists tested Apple’s headphones and compared them to medical hearing aids, stating that consumer wireless headsets could partially replace medical devices for patients diagnosed with hearing loss.

It will be recalled that in 2020, Apple expanded its AirPods line of wireless headphones with a new high-end on-ear model with an “original acoustic design.”
