Honor aims to actively promote its entry into the international market, and the recent MWC 2023 was the perfect showcase to expand the impact of its announcements. After the official presentation of the Magic 5 Pro and Lite versions, Honor Peru confirmed to RPP the arrival of the new Magic V in our country along with the rest of the catalog.
The smartphone was already unveiled in November 2022, but Honor took advantage of its presence at Mobile World Congress to add international support for its second-generation foldable device with Magic OS 7.1, the brand’s custom version of Android 13.
For David Moeno, director of communications for Honor LATAM, “The more quality products there are in a given market, it forces brands to produce better products; but, thanks to their research and development, they really make a difference.”
Honor Magic Vs, an international leap into the foldable world
We face Honor’s bold commitment to compete in a market where Samsung has dominated for nearly half a century with the Fold series. Please note that we are talking about the ultra-premium segment, which brands such as Oppo, Huawei, Vivo, Xiaomi and even Tecno Mobile have decided to approach with clear offers.
Faced with this expanding market, Honor relies on three differences that theoretically give them an edge over the rest of the competition accompanying Samsung. To begin with, we have international availability for this foldable device, which ensures not only that the user can reach the team at the Experience Centers, but that they have local support.
The second difference is research and development. The hinge design reduces the opening and closing mechanism of the hardware to only 4 components, a process that can be done 400,000 times without any problems with the Magic V. Along with that, the “Zero Gap” design fits perfectly on both sides of the screen, although there is still work to be done to make the device more stable in “laptop mode” and “stool mode”.

Thirdly, the motivation of the company. Although it was founded nearly a decade ago, it has been in the race for less than three years to move away from its obvious reference of Huawei and make a name for itself in the industry. With a name that is slowly starting to resonate in the region, Honor points to an aggressive strategy that includes a full catalog, stores in Peru, support and other factors that other Chinese companies have with the same time of presence in our country. not a face yet.
“Over the past 20 years, the mobile industry has integrated solutions from other industries. For example, with car scanner, camera, recorder, wallet, etc., with which devices become more powerful. Today, I consider a foldable smartphone to provide two different user experiences. [smartphone tradicional y tablet]’ said George Zhao, global CEO of HONOR, RPP and other media.
Magic Vs will be showing in Peru in the coming weeks and we’re waiting for a review that will tell you everything you need to know about the team.
