Developer of one of the main emulators ps2, AetherSX2decided to stop its updates after receiving death threats.
The person responsible for the application, one of the favorites of Android users, assures that he will “suspend development indefinitely” AetherSX2 because of all the trouble that was earned by this work.
Complaints and denunciations
The sole developer of the program, “Talret”, – he notes, – “due to endless spoofing, complaints, lawsuits, and now death threats, I’m done” with the application.
As he refers, AetherSX2 it will continue to work to its current state, but will not have any additional updates.
The developer is a little tired of the treatment he received from users. Clearly, death threats were critical to the decision, but the harassment was constant.
For example, Reddit showed how an engineer explained his frustration so that users realized that it was practically “impossible” to build an iOS app due to Apple’s stance on emulation in general. However, people still put pressure on him to make it happen.
It will remain free
AetherSX2 it has always been a free, no-warranty app developed by one person, with Talreth saying that he thinks “it’s just a bunch of haters blowing things out of proportion”.
In conclusion, the developer notes that “there is no point in continuing to pursue a hobby that is no longer fun.” The oldest APK files of the app still available for download from the official site.
