Leslie Urteaga sworn in as the new minister of culture, a position left vacant by Khair Peres. Urteaga previously worked for Ministry of Culture as an adviser to the Deputy Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Industries.
Urteaga is a lawyer who graduated from the National University of the Mayor of San Marcos (UNMSM), from which she graduated in 2005. She later majored in Environment and Natural Resources at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He also received a master’s degree in public administration from the University of the Pacific.
In her work experience, Urteaga has worked as a consultant to the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation on the provision of sanitation services in rural areas, and also worked as a legal support for Sedapal. She also served twice as an adviser in the Office of the Vice Minister of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Industries. Her work experience also includes working as a lawyer for Aqualegal, a water supply and sanitation consultancy.
NEW CABINET
President Dina Boluarte has sworn in Alberto Otarola, who until today has been Minister of Defense, as the new head of the PCM. Innovations in the Cabinet are the appointments of Victor Rojas Herrera as Minister of the Interior; Jorge Chavez Cross as Minister of Defense, Oscar Manuel Becerra as Minister of Education and Leslie Urteaga as Minister of Culture.
