Chirinos accuses executive branch of initiating ‘negotiations’ with congressmen to avoid possible vacancy

“We see that there are many congressmen who are terrified that the Congress will be closed, as well as most Peruvians that they will be left without this very important institution, the only one that can balance democracy, because if we don’t see that the government is out Pedro Castillo forward, and we clearly see that his only goal is to perpetuate himself in power,” he said.

In an interview with RPP Noticias, the MP for Avanza País noted that her bench has spoken to other political groups in Congress, including members of the Magisterial Bloc, “who are very annoyed with the government Pedro Castillo because he hasn’t kept many promises and they feel they’ve been left out.”

In addition, he recalled that some of them did not agree with the choice Betsy Chavez as President of the Council of Ministers. In this regard, the legislator considered that these elections were made “on purpose” by the executive branch, “in order to start a clash”, and accused the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of “showing signs” of a clear conciliatory attitude.

“They start some kind of negotiations and want to seize various congressmen, suggesting to them that they are not going to close the congress, that the question of confidence has simply been raised, but in no case will the second one be raised. They want to give them power quotas for parliamentarians who will oscillate between voting for a vacancy,” he said.

“There are at least 6 or 7 parliamentarians from the Arbitration Bloc who are thinking about voting for a vacancy, and that is what we need to pay attention to, so that Mrs. Betsy Chavez with her cunning, her cunning and her bread under her Arm, do not come here, wishing to negotiate with these congressmen and, above all, that they do not believe that from day to day the government has become good and wants dialogue,” he added.

Congress to vote if it allows vacancy proposal

Congress of the Republic informed the plenary of the third vacancy proposal against President Pedro Castillo, an initiative presented by a congressman outside the group Edward Malaga one who indicates that a document has 67 signatures. At 19:36, the Chairman of the Congress, Joseph Williams, announced the offer of a vacancy and announced that the request had already been brought to the attention of President Pedro Castillo. “In accordance with the regulations read, at the next plenary session, the issue of including a proposal for a vacancy for the post of President of the Republic on the agenda will be considered. Likewise, in accordance with the aforementioned regulation, the President communicates that the vacancy request has been brought to the attention of the President of the Republic,” Williams said.

Prior to this, the Rapporteur of Parliament read the document, and the benches signed the proposal: Fuerza Popular, Renovación Popular, Avanza País, Somos Perú and Alianza para el Progreso (APP).
