Former President Donald Trump told Fox News on Monday that he has no plans to return to Twitter despite multibillionaire Elon Musk’s purchase of the company for $ 44 billion.
He plans to join his problem with social media company Truth Social, which he once used before it launched in February when he sent a message: “ემ Get ready! “Your favorite president will see you soon.”
“I’m not going to Twitter, I’m going to stay true to the truth” he told Fox News. Trump added that he believes Musk could “be better” on Twitter, calling him a “good man, but I’ll stick to the truth.”
Musk is expected to take any approach to his new company, and observers believe this will allow Trump to return to Twitter. The former president has been permanently banned on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat for his role in inciting violent uprisings last year in the United States Capitol.
“We’re getting millions of people and what we’ve found is that the answer to reality is better than being on Twitter,” Trump boasted without giving any details. “Twitter has fake bots and accounts and we’re doing everything we can.”
He added: “The bottom line is no, I’m not going back to Twitter.”
“We want freedom, justice and fairness in our country, and the more open it is, the better,” Trump continued. “I’m not looking [Musk’s Twitter] As a competition for what I do ”.
Trump described his social media company as “my voice platform. Truth is a platform for my vote and for my supporters”.
But then he confronted himself and said he wanted “everyone to reach the truth: the conservatives, the liberals, whatever.” He did not mention the “radical left maniacs” who attacked the political demonstration in Ohio on Saturday.
Muskie’s Twitter operation is widely seen as bad news for Truth Social, as Tesla’s CEO is expected to allow many of the same extremist voices to operate under Trump. The fact is that social Shares dropped by 13%. Monday to afternoon.
Musk tweeted on Monday that he wants even his most outspoken critics to keep Twitter.
Hopefully even my worst critics will stay on Twitter because that’s what free speech means
