Permanent Representative of Peru to the Organization of American States (OAS), Harold Forsythe, emphasized today high-level delegation of an international organization this was integrated to analyze the country’s political situation, stating that the mission “represents America’s diversity”.
AT News extensionThe diplomat stressed that the inclusion of the foreign ministers of Argentina, Ecuador, Belize, Paraguay and Guatemala demonstrates the “attention paid to Peru” and its importance in the region.
“It’s a pretty balanced composition that represents America’s diversity. I think they are interesting people and the Permanent Council has chosen them very well. I got the impression that they will have a very constructive and balanced position,” he said.
“Never in history OAS was such a high level to resolve the issue from a member country. This testifies to the attention paid to Peru and the special weight that our country has in international relations on the American continent,” he added.
In this sense, Harold Forsyth announced that the arrival OAS delegation should not be seen as a triumph Government wave oppositionas an opportunity to overcome political crisis which dominated the country for many years.
“I think it’s important that this is seen as a step towards the right solution that can help us improve this climate of tension that has been in Peru for several years. Nobody benefits that we Peruvians, one people, are so divided. We need to improve coexistence and hopefully this will help us start to get along better and assume that we have common goals,” he said.
The OAS delegation will arrive in two weeks of November
Yesterday it became known that the OAS delegation will consist of foreign ministers Santiago Cafierofrom Argentina; Eamon Courtney, from Belize; Juan Carlos Holguinfrom Ecuador; Mario Adolfo Bucaro from Guatemala; D Julio Cesar Arriolafrom Paraguay.

“Since we are dealing with people of such a high level, it will not be easy to balance everyone’s plans. It occurs to me that this might take about ten or twelve days. My guess is that the mission to Peru will be in the fortnight of November, that’s almost certain,” he said.
He also calculated that OAS delegation meet with the authorities Government of Pedro Castilloas well as the President of the Congress, Joseph Williams shoes; national Attorney, Patricia Benavidez; head of the judiciary Elvia Barrios; and representatives of civil society for the preparation of a report to be subsequently submitted permanent council international organization.
