GOP Gaffe Legislator’s Top Numbers Re-Fire Ridicule Over Math Book Bans

Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.) Raised an eyebrow Tuesday when she tweeted a dramatic outrage at the immigration situation on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Border patrol officers arrested more than 1,000,000,000 migrants across our southern border in just six months. He wrote on Twitter. “President Biden’s open border policy is exacerbating this crisis!”

According to Statistics on US Customs and Border Protection From October to March, more than 1 million migrants were detained or deported on the southern border.

His post was left more than five hours before it was deleted.

Lesko’s deceptive tweet came after news that the state of Florida, led by GOP Governor Ron Desantis, had banned dozens of suggested math textbooks because they allegedly taught critical race theory and other “prohibited subjects.”

The commentators concluded that banning mathematical materials may not be the best idea:

This is what happens when you ban math books. https://t.co/Ow3duUVF5Q

Do you honestly believe that nearly 13 percent of the world’s population tries to cross the Mexico-US border within six months?

– David Little (@davitydave) April 20, 2022

Two possibilities:

(1) One billion migrants attempted to cross our border in just 6 months, or 230,000 hours, or more of Iowa’s population, every 60 minutes.

(2) Debbie does not know how many zeros in a million.
