The publication added that Vice Admiral Arkady Romanov will temporarily lead the Black Sea Fleet.
The publication also quoted the words of Osipov, who once said that without a cruiser he could not be the commander of the fleet.
“The Black Sea Fleet could not survive without the missile cruiser Moscow. I would not be commander of the fleet if I did not have a flagship,” the publication quoted him as saying.
In addition, the publication wrote that before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Osipov personally tested the cruiser’s ability to repel air strikes.
