Congress formalized its request to constitutional Court interpretation of Article 117 of the Constitution. Thus, persecution at the constitutional level of the president will be allowed. Peter’s castle within the deadlines set out in the criminal complaint on particularly serious corruption charges, specified by the nation’s prosecutor’s office.

October 11 National Prosecutor Patricia Benavidezfiled a constitutional complaint against Peter’s castle for the existence of an alleged criminal organization that has infiltrated the government to take over, control and manage the contracting processes at various levels of the state for illegal profits.

The filing of a constitutional complaint before the Congress of the Republic comes after a three-month investigation by the Attorney General’s Office. The conclusion stated that the sufficiency of evidence supporting the constitutional complaint is expressed in the discovery of facts of obtaining economic benefits in the appointment to key positions, charging interest on illegally received applications and illegal use of presidential powers.

“After carrying out all urgent procedures, we can point out that the evidence found constitutes for the State Ministry a reasonable suspicion of the commission of crimes of a criminal organization, trading in influence and collusion in cases named by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (Puente Tarata), Petroperú and the Ministry of Housing, Construction and sanitation,” he said.

According to the investigation, the organization includes, among others, former transport and housing ministers Juan Silva and housing minister Gainer Alvarado, as well as former CEO Petro Peru, Hugo Chavez. Benavidez Vargas added that “the Congress of the Republic now has the sole and exclusive responsibility to decide on the consideration of a constitutional complaint under the United Nations Convention against Corruption.”

He condemned obstruction of justice

When filing this complaint Patricia Benavidez He warned of “constant and vicious obstruction of justice by a suspected criminal organization” which, using its power in government, “threatens the autonomy of the State Ministry” and carries out constant intimidation of him and his family. .

“The prosecution against the Special Prosecutors Unit and the National Police, among other things, seriously threatens the continuity of the investigation and the revelation of the truth that the entire Peruvian people hope to know,” he said.

In addition, he stressed that the investigations carried out by the State Ministry are always objective, in accordance with the law and in compliance with all due process guarantees.

“Prosecutors are not politicians, but executors of justice. We investigate cases based on facts, not people. We do the right thing in accordance with the functions provided by the Constitution and international treaties,” he said.

In conclusion, he pointed out that corruption undermines the democratic order and violates human rights, so the fight against this evil in all spheres of the state must be unanimous. “Because only then will immunity not be impunity. We Peruvians deserve to know the truth,” she said.
