Permanent Criminal Chamber Supreme Court will consider the appeal submitted by the President of the Republic, Peter’s castlewith which he seeks to be excluded from the preliminary investigation conducted by the National Prosecutor’s Office in the case of “Decentralized Provias – Tarata Bridge”.
The Supreme Court accepted this measure, declaring “satisfied” the head of state’s appeal, filed through his lawyer, to overturn the decision of the supreme judge. Juan Carlos Chekliwho declared unfounded the defense of rights they presented to overturn the Prosecutor General’s Office’s decision to involve the president in this preliminary investigation.
In the coming days, said Supreme Hall will set a date for a hearing in which it will evaluate the merits of this defense with the parties involved in order to make a final decision on this resource.
On July 21, the Supreme Prosecutor appointed in the case applied to the Supreme Court with a request that the complaint filed by the presidential defense in this case be declared unfounded.
