public service Preliminary investigation launched against former Chief Prosecutor Luis Arce Cordova as the author of the alleged crime of illicit enrichment to the detriment of the state.
This action was taken by the Second Provisional Supreme Prosecutor’s Office, which specializes in crimes committed by public officials, which included Wilder Arce Cordova and Nelton Javier Arce Cordova, involved in the case, as part of this preparatory investigation.
The said Chief Prosecutor is investigating Luis Arce Cordova for the alleged increase in his assets during his tenure as Justice of the Peace, which began in 1994 as a Permanent Specialized Judge of the Superior Court of Lima and later as a Permanent Representative of a Government Ministry before the National Jury for Elections.
According to information from National oversight of public registriesit should be noted that during the period of its operation, it registered the acquisition of numerous real estate and movable property, of which five objects acquired in 2017 stand out, one of which was canceled 100 percent in just one year.
Similarly, the purchase of five cars, four of which were purchased in 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2007, and the purchase of seven cars by the son of the now former Chief Prosecutor are being considered. One of them was made through a deal in 2013 when he was only 18 years old.
By a decree dated June 21, the prosecutor notified the chief judge Juan Carlos Checky that this preliminary investigation will be carried out within 8 months, when a series of procedures will be carried out to clarify the case.
In July 2021, the Supreme Court ruled to ban people from leaving the country for 18 months. Luis Arce Cordova who was fired twice by the National Council of Justice as a result of his alleged connection to the Port’s White Necks case and for his resignation of a government ministry spokesperson before the National Election Jury during the development of the 2021 Generals Elections.
