Permanent Criminal Chamber Supreme Court ratified a 36-month pre-trial detention order issued on March 9 against former President Pedro Castillo, who is under investigation on suspicion of being a criminal organization for Petroper Ministry of Transport and Housing.
Through its official Twitter account, the Judiciary announced that a room chaired by Cesar San Martin Castro also ordered a change in the preventive measure against former housing minister Gainer Alvarado, who was included in the investigation.
The former official is accused of allegedly committing various crimes, including a criminal organization, greed and conspiracy to the detriment of the state.
On the other hand, last December Justice of the Peace Juan Carlos Chekli ordered 18 months of preventive detention for Pedro Castillo as part of an investigation into an alleged mutiny (or conspiracy to mutiny).
A few days later, the Permanent Criminal Division of the Supreme Court ratified the resolution. In addition, he confirmed a restricted turnout order for former cabinet minister Anibal Torres Vazquez and imposed an 18-month travel ban on him.
