House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (California) removed her glove on Sunday to assess the U.S. Supreme Court as “dangerous for families, for the freedoms in our country.”
“Who doubts that a creature like Donald Trump will be president, upsetting the list of judges he will appoint … supporting the far right and appointing judges against this freedom in court?” churches.
Pelosi was targeted by a draft of Judge Samuel Alito’s views, which leaked earlier this month. But he also fears that this is the beginning of a massive abolition of liberties by an aggressive conservative court.
“Be careful in terms of marital equality, be careful in other aspects,” he warned in an interview with CNN’s State of Union.
“Understand this,” he added in Alito’s decision, which is not yet final. “It’s not just about ending the pregnancy. It’s about contraception, family planning”.
The decision violates “a place where freedom and the kitchen table, the problems of American families, converge,” he added. “What decisions does the family make? What about contraception for young people? It’s more than just a particular situation. “It’s huge in terms of contraception, IVF, women’s decision making,” she said.
Pelosi said Republicans prevented Democrats from passing federal law to protect reproductive rights. He called on Democrats to mobilize and vote in midterm elections to help compensate for the loss of conservative justice, including Trump’s three nominees: Neil Gorsuch, Brett Cavanaugh, and Amy Connie Barrett.
“The genius of our founders is a constitution that will allow us to expand freedom,” Pelosi said. “This is the first time the court has regained the freedom established by the former and the respect for confidentiality.”
In an interview with ABC News on Sunday, Pelosi condemned the heinous shooting of 10 people at a Buffalo supermarket on Saturday. Most of the victims were black. “Our hearts are so sad. For the families affected by this,” he told George Stephanopoulos.
