The President arrived in the region in Downtown Puerto Pizarro where in his speech he pointed out that although the executive branch announced the natural phenomenon in advance, the state does not count with enough machinery to deal with the effects of the rains.
“Through indecisiveA few weeks ago, we warned that this natural phenomenon would affect the north of the country, because neither the governor nor the mayors could deal with it immediately, nor could the state – to tell the truth – because we don’t have technologywe don’t have pumps we have no way to withstand these rains naturally, because the state was really abandoned,” the president said.
To rectify this situation, he indicated that the state is preparing “mechanical package” which he will send to regional municipalities to deal with the effects of rain.
“From now on in the north of the country, I want to announce that, as part of public policy, we are already working to ensure that every provincial municipality package technicians at the national level, so that they can not only withstand this situation (…) due to natural phenomena, but also be able to strengthen roads and bridges, which are so necessary at the national level,” he stressed.
In this sense, the Head of State stressed that the specified “flock” was the result of “well-coordinated work with private company, Therefore, he asked the regional authorities to direct their demands according to the situation in each jurisdiction.
“Today we are coming (…) with humanitarian aid, with motor pumps, in this work we agreed with a private company, because, I repeat, the state does not have motor pumps, we don’t have enough technology and what we have is not enough to be able to serve at the national level. For this reason, it is very important that they send us their requirements so that this package of equipment that we are going to deliver can be done in the near future, because we must provide the state with the infrastructure so that it can defend itself,” he said.
