Special group of the National Police in support of the prosecutor’s office conducted a search operation on Tuesday from early Tuesday morning, which resulted in the arrest of Jorge Ernesto Hernandez Fernandez, nicknamed “El Espanyol”. According to prosecutors, this man will be responsible for the assassination attempt on Patricia Benavidez, head of the public ministry.
This individual, according to information from the Ministry of Public Security, also aimed to attack members of a special group led by Colonel Harvey Quilted. It is a form of retaliation for the investigations, interferences and arrests that these operators of the criminal justice system have carried out since its inception.
The prosecution also stated that ‘Spanish’ will be responsible for coordinating and organizing directly with the former President Pedro Castillo their clandestine meetings to appoint the directors of national intelligence DINI and DIGIMIN and conveniently integrate them into a criminal organization supposedly led by a former president.

The tax information also states that El Espanyol will also be responsible for discrediting and neutralizing any information that could compromise Castillo Terrones and members of the alleged criminal organization and/or link them to them.
Homes of people associated with Castillo raided
The State Department and police have raided seven homes of people associated with former President Pedro Castillo since early Tuesday morning as part of an investigation into an alleged criminal organization.
The operation also searched a property in Surco belonging to Henry Augusto Shimabukuro Guevara, a former adviser to President Pedro Castillo; in the house of San Isidro of the Spanish citizen Sergio Castellanos Martinez; and at the home (Magdalena del Mar) of PNP Colonel Jorge Fernando Cassanov Cubas, former director of DIGIMIN.
In addition, the raid was carried out on the premises (Callao) of PNP commander Engelbert Verasteca Diaz and his work center located at Police Operations Center -105 (Cercado de Lima); and at the home of PNP Colonel Juan Esteban Asmat Bukalo, former director of DIGIMIN.
