The Congress of the Republic passed Act No. 31694, which provides “registration and amnesty” individuals or entities whose purchase or possession of a firearm or ammunition for civilian use “is not registered or does not have an ownership card or whose license to use and carry has expired.”
The above rule was published yesterday, Thursday, in the official gazette of El Peruano and will have validity period 3 years.

Register Sucamec
In accordance with the law, the National Directorate for the Control of Security Services, Arms, Ammunition and Explosives for Civil Use (Sucamec) will be the body responsible for implementing census of “unregistered firearms” whose legal possession or acquisition “has not been reported to the designated supervisory authority, which does not have a property card or a license to use and carry expired”.

An important fact pointed out by the rule is that Sucamec can “sign conventions or agreements with mass media private or accept their cooperation in distributing the ‘user registration process’.
Likewise, “you can get financial support, donations, or volunteer work from companies, institutions, and people who want to partner with the enrollment process.”
The law also states that sukamek will submit a report “during the first quarter of each year” on the progress of registration to the Commission on National Defense, Internal Order, Alternative Development and Counter Narcotics of the Congress of the Republic.
