Parliamentarian for the Alliance for Progress (APP) Lady Camones announced the introduction of a bill increasing the monthly economic allowance for military personnel stationed in the barracks of the Armed Forces (FF.AA.).
“We presented PL No. 4122/2022-CR, which is aimed at increasing nearly double the tip received by our brave members of the Peruvian Armed Forces. Let’s show our appreciation for their hard work in fighting narcoterrorism and protecting our sovereignty,” the congresswoman said via Twitter.
“ridiculous amount”
As stated in the aforementioned legislative initiative, the amount allocated for military personnel in the barracks, such as the “headquarters of officers, cadets, overseers, technicians and non-commissioned officers, cadets and personnel” is S / 256, as provided for in the Supreme Decree 2012 which establishes the specified economic distribution.
In this sense, Camones described the said amount as “ludicrous”, despite the fact that “there has been an inflationary process that fluctuates at 3% per year, but with the addition from 2012 to 2022 it has risen to more than 30%”.
“A soldier and the equivalent of his degree in each armed institution currently receives an economic allowance of only 256.00 S/, very ridiculous amount for the work they do constantly, in support of national defense, distributed over different regions of the country, especially given the infinity of difficulties that this entails for their survival, stay in inhospitable regions,” he stressed.
Camones points out that in order to achieve an increase in the aforementioned economic distribution, “it is necessary that, in principle, except To the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the ban established by Article 6 of the Law on the Public Sector Budget for 2023 fiscal year.”
“The proposal for a new Monthly Business Assignment scale will have the direct beneficiaries of the staff who currently perform Military service deployed in various units strategically located throughout the country, while the number of personnel involved, taking into account the number approved this year, ”the bill states.
Finally, the parliamentarian points out that her proposal “is directly related to the state policy agreed in the national agreement: the Seventh State Policy: the eradication of violence and the strengthening of civility and the security of citizens.”
