also won over Vladimir Serron and the other was investigating the payment of civil compensation to S/. 2 million 18 thousand, which must be paid in solidarity. Judge’s verdict Guido Arroyo it will be executed after obtaining consent or implementation.
The resolution also includes for all participants deprivation of the right to hold public office, even if obtained through popular elections, for four years, as soon as the verdict is confirmed. However, Cerrón’s defense and other officials announced they would appeal.
Until the decision is confirmed in the second instance, Vladimir Serron will not be able to leave the country and register at the biometric control on Mondays of each week while the final decision process lasts.
The Vanka Airfield Case
The State Ministry initiated this criminal case against Vladimir Cerrón after the former regional governor of Junin signed in 2014 with Luis García Morón, the legal representative of the Wanka Gran Aerodrome consortium, airfield construction contract with a budget of 366 million soles, without taking into account the opinion of the General Directorate for Investment Policy (DGPI) of the Ministry of Economy.
The prosecutor’s office also points out that Serrón, when he was governor of Junin, should not have taken steps to develop an airfield project in Orcotun, province of Concepción, since there was a position of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, which stated that this region already had an airport and should not invest into the creation of another.
More lawsuits against him
Vladimir Cerrón Rojas is also charged with an alleged crime of money laundering for allegedly illegal campaign finance by Peru Libre. According to the fiscal thesis, the founder of the party accumulated a wealth imbalance of more than six million soles. Similarly, Berta Rojas, his mother, will also be implicated in being accused of being a figurehead and responsible for acquiring assets in her son’s name.
Tax investigations suggest that illegal money came from bribes for procedures and the issuance of driver’s licenses, as well as “from the management of recruitment of personnel in accordance with the CAS modality.” The beneficiaries of this last group, once hired, contributed money to the political organization.
