Dina Boluarte: “We are not going to succumb to the blackmail of the minimum sector, my resignation is not at stake”

President of the Republic Dina Boluarteduring an official event in Talara, Piura spoke about the current socio-political crisis in different regions of the country, requiring, among other things, their resignation charge.

In this regard, he indicated that he would not “succumb to blackmail” by “minority groups” and that his resignation as president was not at stake.

“My resignation doesn’t solve anything in this situation. I know that there is a minimal part of the population of these groups that generate violence and chaos in the country, which, through blackmail, they put the resignation of the president. We are not going to succumb to this political, anarchist blackmail that wants to bring the country into disorder and crisis,” he said.

In this sense, he called on “these aggressive groups” to think and choose a dialogue to search for “peace” in the country.

“The end of this political crisis is also based on the fact that those minority groups that generate violence and chaos, reflect and rely on working with a united and peaceful country,” he said.

“Promotion of elections in the hands of Congress”

On the other hand, the Head of State spoke about the plenary session Congress scheduled for today, which will continue the debate on the progress of this year’s general elections, and will consider the bill submitted by the government in this regard.

“He Congress He has a legislative initiative, which we sent, and we only ask them to respond with a height to the needs that the people are asking for: early elections, and we will all leave, ”he said.

The head of state indicated that the executive would wait “for what they decide” on the date of the new elections, although she declined to decide on a possible scenario in which the government’s proposal would be rejected.

In addition, with regard to the draft law on the total reform of the Constitution through Congress – which has not been submitted, as announced in his message to the nation last Sunday – argued that there is already a law in this regard that is available to Parliament.

“We have introduced a new legislative initiative so that elections can be held this October (…) As for Law 27600, it is in force, and congressmen can use it to resolve the issue of the invalidity of the constituent assembly,” he said.

On the other hand, the president denied having “frictions” with the prime minister. Alberto Otarola and that the Cabinet works “as one team”.

“The issue of friction with the prime minister is absolutely false (…) We work together, the whole cabinet is a close-knit team that meets the needs of the country,” he stressed.
