In an interview with RPP Noticias, the legislator considered that the real reason strength of the people and other parties that are proposing a replacement text to set the election forward for this year, rather than 2024 as they originally proposed, is that “they are ready to apply tomorrow.”

“They have a sense of opportunity, because if there is a party that can stand for elections tomorrow and have candidates in all regions, then it is Fujimori. They are ready to run tomorrow. “There are meetings where you understand that it is time to leave, I think that this Congress does not have the proper legitimacy, because we do not agree that it cannot agree on a minimum clause (…) When there are dead and more than 1500 wounded, this is a Congress that unfortunately let the people down and we have to go,” he added.
