Gustavo Bobbio, a former defense minister, assured this Wednesday that he had been offered to be an interlocutor among the protesters in order to establish a dialogue with the government of Dina Boluarte. This would serve, he pointed out, to bring about an end to the conflict that has been going on in the country since last year.
“Immediately before the arrival, the doctor (she did not give her name) told me that we were going to talk to see the possibility that she represents at least the part that she represents. Dr. Andina represents the protesters in Lima and part of Cusco. Of course, I would (I would be ready),” he said in an interview with the program Everything is known from RPP news.
Gustavo Bobbio indicated that he would review the proposal and the agenda of the protesters before accepting this position. They also hope that the right will accept him as a possible interlocutor.
“I’m going to ask them what the agenda is, what they want, and I’m going to tell them I don’t think so. Then, despite the fact that many accuse me of being the one who pointed the gun at Pedro (Castillo), but they accept that I am the interlocutor, and the right also accepts, I will try to make them understand that Peru is one thing and that we cannot continue to lose money and (what is) death,” he said.
Pedro Castillo replies
The former minister confirmed that Pedro Castillo is responsible for what is happening in the country and expressed regret that he never managed to achieve the high post he held. In this sense, he regretted that the former president never heeded the advice he gave him.
“He embodied the will of the people, but did not correspond to the circumstances. I would like to write down the advice he gave him, but he never listened,” he said.
Finally, Bobbio did not rule out the possibility that the people from Sendero Luminoso and Movadef might be behind the violent demonstrations we are seeing in Peru.
“Among those who came (to Lima), there are also people from Movadef, Sendero. I think they should be, like the plainclothes police, embedded in the marches, ”he warned.
Vacancy motion against Boluart
This Wednesday, a group of left-wing parliamentarians officially unveiled a petition for the nomination of Dina Boluarte to the presidency due to permanent moral incapacity, in accordance with Article 113.2 of the Political Constitution of Peru.
In the document, he is listed as responsible for the deaths of people taking place in the country during demonstrations of the population demanding his resignation.
“It is assumed that both Madame Boluarte and none of the members of her cabinet wish to resign, despite the fact that our people are still being subjected to a literal and heinous massacre. Another term could not be used, ”the vacancy movement is said in part of the statement.
The request for the vacancy was processed today at 18:15 by e-mail at the virtual party table of Congress. It takes 66 votes to get it processed, and then 87 votes to remove Boluarte.
