Members of the Ukrainian comedy group Diesel Studio are now entertaining Russians on a liner that runs from Sochi to Turkey and back.
Actors Sergei Pisarenko and Evgeniy Nikishin, originally from Russia, are no longer part of the Diesel Studio team because they did not condemn the war in Ukraine. This was announced by Yevgeny Smorygin in an interview with KP in Ukraine.
“The war exposes and sets all priorities. Here you have to decide one hundred percent – who are you for? You have to have a position. Unfortunately, the men cannot express their official pro-Ukrainian position. We respect each other, we are friends, but without the position in Ukraine and without condemning the war, not a single artist, most likely, will be able to work in Ukraine,” he said.
The artist of Belarusian origin noted that the farewell to Pisarenko and Nikishin was cultural and without scandal.
“We wrote open letters to each other in our group, without scandals, without hysterics, calmly expressed our position. Unfortunately, they could not express the pro-Ukrainians. Therefore, we calmly separated temporarily,” explained Evgeny Smorygin.
Earlier it was reported that Yevgeny Smorygin admitted that the earlier acquisition of Ukrainian citizenship was not a pressing issue for him.
