The Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, October 27, completed an investigation into a fatal shooting on set during the filming of Rust, in which Ukrainian-born cameraman Galina Hutchins was killed and injured filmmaker Joel Souza. The New York Post writes about it.
Investigators say criminal charges against those involved, including Alec Baldwin, may be imminent.
“Today, District Attorney Mary Carmack-Oltvis received a report from the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office regarding the investigation into the incident on the Rust set,” the report said.
It was also reported that the district attorney’s office and a team of investigators and prosecutors will begin a thorough review of information and evidence to decide whether to file charges. When the decision will be made is unknown.
It will be remembered that the incident happened in the shootout scene. The revolver that Baldwin fired was supposed to be loaded with blanks, but at the time of the shot came out with a live bullet in the weapon.
