After going through an episode of prejudice, Sarah Fonseca used her voice to empower other black women
Sarah de Andrade Fonsecabetter known in the digital universe as Sarah Fonseca, is 28 years old, is from Rio de Janeiro, businesswoman and digital influencer. She started her internet career in 2018. With a degree in administration, she has worked in three multinationals and founded her own company at age 18, before giving up her career to undertake and invest in her career as an influencer.
Its main mission is to influence and motivate people through its Instagram profile. On the platform, where she has almost 1 million followers, Sarah has already made more than 50 episodes in her #ElaFazONnegócioDela Web Series on Instagram about entrepreneurship, telling her story and giving tips and advice for those who want to undertake or are already undertaking and are in the beginning.
In her new project, Sarah will help 4 black entrepreneurs, promoting their companies in a very special way. The influencer will choose 4 women owners of ventures to buy her products herself, receive at her home and record a reels with the 4, as a form of disclosure.
“My experience and experience as a black entrepreneur make me believe that we still need a lot of support so that one day we have equal opportunities. People really don’t want to accept when we get to certain places, and they always try to get us out of there. It’s exhausting. That’s why I help with a lot of love and empathy because I UNDERSTAND. I understand the feeling, the difficulties, the looks, the discouragement, seeing the doubt of those who receive a proposal/offer from a black entrepreneur. I understand. The whatever I can do for anti-racism, not only with entrepreneurs and on social media, but offline as well, I’ll do it”reported Sarah about her initiative.
Being a great example for black women who are entrepreneurship today, Sarah remembers that she didn’t feel very represented in this market because she didn’t have references from people like her.
“When I was 18 years old, I was studying Business Administration at UFF and most of the students were white. Some started companies early too. If today it’s hard for a black entrepreneur to light up and be a reference/example, imagine 10 years ago? I really can’t remember anyone .”, he said.
For black entrepreneurs who want to participate in the influencer’s initiative, just tell their stories in the comments of Sarah’s Instagram post, which she herself will select the ones that draw the most attention to participate in this very special project.
