The singer thought he was stripped of his title in 2014 when he openly opposed the annexation of Crimea.

Authorities occupying the annexed Crimea have revoked the title Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich. Honored Artist of the Crimea. The singer spoke about it in Instagram-stories.

According to him, the corresponding decision was made due to the fact that he was “not silent about the atrocities of the Russian occupiers that they committed against the civilian population.”

In addition, the star criticizes the Russian authorities.

“Such news came to me that I could not help but share it. The Crimean leadership decided to remove my title from me. Honored Artist of the Crimea. Honestly, I thought it had happened a long time ago, since the time of the annexation, because I said and I say that Crimea is Ukraine! Surprisingly they decided to do it just now. What can I tell you, my non -friends from the Crimea, I advise you to read books and develop your intellect, and not to engage in populism, ”Zlata said.

Note that Ognevich was awarded this title in 2013.

It will be recalled that on Wednesday, April 20, the Russian Federation banned more than 30 citizens of Ukraine from entering the country. The ban was introduced for 50 years.
