American rapper Coolio died of severe asthma. So say his family, writes TMZ.
“We spoke to several sources close to the late rapper, who each told us about his asthma and how he struggled with it over the years. Furthermore, we know that the Coolio family said also to the investigators investigating his death, about his history with asthma,” the article said.
Coolio is known to always carry multiple inhalers with him to control his condition, even using them on stage during some of his performances.
Sources said that before he died, the rapper went into the bathroom, locked the door and apparently passed out. Coolio’s friend had to break down the door to get to him.
Once the rescuers arrived at the house, they worked for 45 minutes trying to resuscitate the singer, but they were unsuccessful.
Recall that the Russian singer Boris Moiseev died earlier. The cause of his death is unknown.
