The TV presenter noted that Estonia received about 55 thousand Ukrainian refugees, they also donated and believed in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
TV presenter Lesya Nikityuk, arriving in Estonia, met with the mayor of Tallinn, Mikhail Kilvart, and learned how the country supports Ukraine. He announced this on his Instagram page.
“February 24 is a terrible date in Ukraine, it is the beginning of a full-scale war. February 24 is Independence Day in Estonia. For Estonians, Independence Day is like a birthday! It is a happy and at the same time sad holiday. Because Estonians remember and do not forget the terrible Soviet repressions. Therefore, this day is for them, full of tears of happiness and sadness. At the meeting, the mayor of Tallinn told me that when everyone found out about the whole Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Estonian wound reopened and began to bleed” he wrote.
Therefore, according to the star, the Estonian authorities and people began to actively help the Ukrainians.
“Estonia has received about 55 thousand Ukrainian refugees, which is 4% of the population of this country. Social services, educational services – all this is provided to people fleeing the war. Estonia has created thousands of thousand places in schools for children of refugees from Ukraine, new schools were opened, including the Freedom School in Tallinn,” shared Lesya Nikityuk.
