He noted that looking at this picture, he thinks about the future prosperous European Ukraine.
Ukrainian producer Alexander Rodnyansky posted on Instagram a photo taken in Mariupol shortly before the start of a full-scale war with Russia.
He shows what the city looked like before the invaders destroyed it.
“Honestly, I’m tired of sad news. I want to write something inspiring. A very powerful, I think, picture – a city on the eve of its death. A beautiful, peaceful and predominantly speaking Russian, whose residents I didn’t know that only a month later their lives would be destroyed… That Russian artillery and aviation almost wiped Mariupol off the face of the earth, killing thousands and thousands of its civilians in the process. A bittersweet picture,” wrote Rodnyansky .
The producer said that this picture does not remind of the tragedy of Mariupol, but speaks of the future.
“The fact that through suffering, sorrow and many sacrifices, through the daily work of the Ukrainian people, victory will inevitably come. And, looking at this picture, I think about the future that prosperous Ukraine – a happy European state that pays a very high price for its freedom. This is the future that will surely come. And Mariupol will rise from the dead, “said Rodnyansky.
