They want to deprive the musician of the title of honorary ambassador of Lvov. The created petition has already obtained the required number of votes for consideration.
In the Unified System of Electronic Petitions on August 31, an appeal appeared to remove Ukrainian conductor Oksana Lyniv from the title of honorary ambassador of Lviv because of her cooperation with Russian musicians, also because of the performance of composers’ works of Russia.
The author of the petition is Alexander Syrtsov from Lviv. According to him, Lyniv is “very unreadable in his musical collaborations.”
“The result of this is constant scandals about his cooperation with Russian performers and the performance of the works of Russian authors under the guise of “music is higher than this and it does not belong to a state ,” the petition said.
In particular, Syrtsov mentioned Lyniv’s August 17 Facebook post, where he announced the recording of a joint album with Russian musician Dmitry Chernyakov.
He believes that cooperation with artists from the Russian Federation “is not compatible with the promotion of Ukrainian culture and crosses all the achievements of Lyniv.”
“We demand from the mayor of Lvov to strip Oksana Lyniv of her title,” added the author of the petition.
Since publication, the petition has received 15,500 votes. For its consideration by local representatives, 500 votes are needed within 60 days. Lyniv himself has not yet commented on the appeal.
