Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich condemned her colleagues, who went abroad since February 24. She revealed this in an interview with Muzvar.
According to the performer, artists should be with the people of Ukraine.
“My position concerns all the artists who left the country since the beginning of the total invasion, and now they are trying to do something. I think that the artist is a difficult profession. It is not a profession if you can sit somewhere in the bush. I think that an artist is the person who is with the people,” she said.
At the same time, the artist admitted that he had long decided not to perform in Russia.
“I have stated my position from the beginning. I do not see the occupation of Crimea, Crimea is Ukraine, all the occupied lands of the enemy are Ukraine. And I do not give concerts in Russia. Since the beginning of full scale invasion, I already have many statements on Instagram. In general, I myself once asked if I want to build a career in Russia, if I will be comfortable there. As an artist, the Maidan is still new. The answer is this – I am emotionally unpleasant, I am not immune,” Ognevich admitted.
