The story of 53-year-old interior designer Anna, who lost her money, marriage and faith in life to scammers, has become a high-profile example of the dangers of online scams.
In France, television told the story of 53-year-old interior designer Anna, who became a victim of scammers posing as famous Hollywood actor Brad Pitt.
The criminals used her name to gain the woman’s trust, manipulate her feelings and cheat her out of more than 800 thousand euros.
According to Voici, it all started in 2023, when Anna, married to a millionaire, created a social network account to share family photos. There, actor Jane Etta Pitt allegedly contacted her, claiming that Anna herself was the woman Brad needed.
At that time, Anna doubted her marriage and, convinced of Pitt’s fidelity, filed for divorce, dreaming of a relationship with the handsome man in Hollywood. Scammers skillfully manipulated her feelings: the criminal gave compliments, devoted poems, gave jewelry, and even sent photos from a supposed hospital room created by a neural network.
The scam culminated in a request for help to pay for treatment for kidney cancer, as his accounts were allegedly frozen by a court case with Angelina Jolie. Anna did not hesitate to hand over the money left after the divorce. In total, the scammers defrauded him of 830 thousand euros.
The reality was revealed when the designer saw the news of Brad Pitt’s real relationship with jewelry designer Ines de Ramon. Anna realizes that she has been the victim of a scam.
The consequences of the deception were disastrous: the woman lost all her funds, destroyed her relationship with her daughter, lost friends and fell into a prolonged depression. Due to suicidal thoughts, he was hospitalized.
It was previously reported that Brad Pitt decided to legitimize his relationship with 29-year-old Ines de Ramon, whom he has been dating for over a year.
