Doctor Gabriela Morales explains some necessary skin care after overdoing it with makeup during the end of the year

Due to the many end-of-year festivities, many people, mostly women, end up using makeup a little more to meet the beauty standards required by society. But this can be costly if not done correctly. For those who think that you just need to use makeup and that’s it, you are very mistaken.

According to the doctor Gabriela Moralesusing makeup without excessive skin preparation can cause damage that can often become addictive and even cause mental health problems.

“Exaggerated use of makeup can lead to blocked pores, acne, and changes in skin quality. Furthermore, chemicals present in cosmetics can cause allergies and skin irritation”, says the doctor. Finally, she talks about dependence on self-image products, which can negatively impact self-esteem and mental health.

Vacation excesses

In addition to the dependence on self-makeup, another precaution at this time of year is due to excesses on vacation. Too much sun or too cold, in the case of trips to Europe and the USA, can hurt and damage the skin.

“I have listed some essential skin care, both for cold and hot weather. In places with a warmer climate, the most important thing is protection against the sun’s rays, as in addition to causing blemishes, they promote the emergence of skin cancer in the future. In colder climates, hydration needs greater attention. The freezing wind tends to remove local humidity more easily, creating a drier environment, directly impacting skin hydration. Furthermore, hot baths also tend to dry out our skin. Hydration and protection from direct contact with freezing weather are the keys to maintaining skin health in the cold”, he concludes. Gabriela.
