Queen Consort Camilla suffered a health scare with a chest infection, forcing her to pull out of scheduled events this week. This was reported by Reuters in connection with Buckingham Palace.
A royal family spokesman said it was with great regret that King Charles III’s wife had canceled all official appearances but hoped to recover soon so she could be at the commemorations at the weekend.
At one of this week’s major events, the opening of the Field of Remembrance memorial garden at Westminster Abbey, Camilla will be represented by Birgitta, Duchess of Gloucester.
In addition, the Queen Consort will not attend the reception for Olympians and Paralympians at Buckingham Palace, which will be hosted by King Charles III instead.
It was previously reported that Queen Camilla of Great Britain became the first patron of the Rifles Association, a military regiment to which her father belonged.
