Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour says he won’t perform with Roger Waters because of his pro-Russian views and support for dictators.
The legendary guitarist of the British group Pink Floyd David Gilmour has said that he does not plan to perform with his former colleague Roger Waters because of his pro-Russian position and support for the dictator Putin.
In an interview with The Guardian, Gilmour was asked if it was possible for him to reunite with Waters, and the musician replied that he would not: “No, I assure you.”
Gilmore explains his position by his reluctance to work with people who support autocrats and genocidal policies. “I don’t get close to those who actively support genocide and violent dictatorships in the person of Putin and Maduro. And I will never share the stage with anyone who considers their contempt for women and the LGBT community to be normal,” the musician said. .
Gilmour also noted that, unlike Waters, he would happily return to the stage with the late Rick Wright, Pink Floyd’s keyboardist, who was considered a brilliant musician.
It was previously reported that the German music rights company BMG broke off the partnership with Roger Waters due to his statements about Israel, Ukraine and the United States.
