Ukrainian-Venezuelan choreographer and singer Amador Lopez, who received Ukrainian citizenship in 2022, shared unexpected details about its registration process.
In an interview with Slava Demin, the artist admitted that he was offered to speed up the acquisition of a passport for a bribe.
“They said 15 thousand dollars, but for you we can do it for 10. But it’s not because I’m Ukrainian, I love this country and I want to do a lot, I’m already doing a lot to become a worthy citizen of Ukraine ! . Therefore, I did this: if “You really want me to become a citizen of Ukraine, please, let’s do it right,” said Lopez.
Despite initial contact with President Vladimir Zelensky, Amador said he did not contact him directly on this issue. The artist admitted that obtaining citizenship was not easy, but he managed to go through a difficult process, proving through his actions his right to citizenship.
“I did it at the last minute, but it was possible thanks to my active social activities,” Lopez concluded.
It was previously reported that Moldovan President Maia Sandu signed a decree granting citizenship to some members of the Russian group Bi-2 and members of their families.
