Blake Lively’s controversial statements about trans people resurface amid production of ‘It Ends With Us’
One of the statements that angered queer people was made in a 2012 interview with Elle magazine, where Lively mentioned her expectations about future children and her fashion sense. At the time, she said: “I hope to have some girls one day. If they’re not girls, they better be girls.” [termo transfóbico]because I have some amazing shoes, bags and stories that need to be appreciated.”

The comment gained traction again after a social media user X shared a screenshot of the interview, reigniting the debate. “Sometimes I’m just going about my day and then I remember the time Blake Lively said this to a journalist,” the user wrote in the caption.
Additionally, another controversial statement from Lively came in a 2009 interview with Allure magazine, in which she mentioned her own height and referred to herself with the same offensive term, making fun of the LGBT+ issue.
Criticism of the actress has been heightened by her high-profile role in “It Ends With Us,” as issues of diversity and inclusion continue to gain traction in the entertainment industry. Lively, who shares four children with Ryan Reynolds, has yet to publicly comment on the resurfaced remarks.
