Zhenya Galich spoke about the fight against depression and alcoholism

The leader of the O.Torvald group, Zhenya Galich, openly shared his experience of struggling with depression and alcoholism, which appeared against the backdrop of stress and disappointment in recent years.

Always cheerful, the artist faced emotional hardships due to the pandemic and war. In 2022, when Galich joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, anxiety began to rise, and he began using alcohol as a way to relieve stress.

However, his habit of soothing himself with alcohol began to threaten his health. When his friend noticed this, he offered to help, and although Galich was skeptical at first, he agreed to therapy.

In the first session, it became clear that he was suffering from depression, which he was trying to treat with alcohol. Realizing the problem, Zhenya went to the doctor, who prescribed him antidepressants. Despite a difficult start to treatment, Galich gradually began to recover and experienced significant relief. He admits that the treatment helped him return to a normal life.

“I went to medical tests, looked for my doctor, and he said that progress will come faster with antidepressants. At first I refused, I really believed that I could handle everything. But after a The first two weeks were very bad, especially in the morning, my recovery started when I looked in the mirror and asked myself what good thing to wear I was surprised, because for several years I didn’t care,” admitted the artist.

It was previously reported that Zhenya Galich admitted that he was experiencing mental health problems.
