Show at Teatro Itália explores the challenges of love and friendship in the era of hyperconnection and veiled freedom
The work explores the dynamics of relationships of love, sex and friendship in the intense city of São Paulo in the 2020s, with a particular focus on the challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ people over 40. This generation lived in a time when assuming one’s identity or talking openly about love was seen as taboo.
Now, in a world of superficial relationships, hyperconnection and contradictory freedom, the show portrays the loneliness and emotional crumbs left over in the search to rebuild life in a metropolis that offers everything and, at the same time, nothing.
The story unfolds in an iconic building in downtown São Paulo, where the central character, played by Aguiar, tries to rebuild his life. The solo, directed by Ester Laccava, is full of twists and turns and engages the audience in an intimate conversation about the complexities of modern relationships and queer affections.
With performances on Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the play has a talented team, including musical direction by Otávio Ferraz, lighting design by Sarah Salgado and visual design by Giulia Laccava. Tickets range from R$30 to R$60 and can be paid in up to 12 installments.
