The city of Juazeiro in Bahia may elect the first trans councilwoman in its history. A transvestite, mixed race and pansexual, Manuella Tyler is a candidate for the PSol party and will officially join the federal deputy and icon Erika Hilton (PSol-SP) on Saturday, the 10th, at an event starting at 6 pm, at the Colégio Modelo gymnasium.
Manuella urges: “Transforming politics with a modern mindset starts by placing diversity as the protagonist. That is why I am planning to launch a pre-candidacy that goes beyond the outdated formats of doing politics.”
She promises that “this event will also be a space for leisure, production and cultural dissemination, as well as a place to listen to all demands, ensuring a democratic and effective policy. I invite everyone to join us in this fight. Your presence is essential to ensure the advancement of our project.”
Manuella’s goals for a future term include defending LGBT+ rights, women’s rights, health and safety. She also wants to fight for quality public services and the environment.
