According to the Daily Mail, Samantha said that Meghan’s comments affected her ability to work. Samantha, 59, is challenging the court’s dismissal of her lawsuit, which she claims Meghan described her as a “fame-seeking, racist liar.”
Court documents state that Samantha is unable to work or even do simple everyday tasks, such as going to the store, because of the harassment. In March 2024, a Florida court ruled that Samantha had not provided enough evidence for a defamation claim against Meghan and dismissed the lawsuit, but lawyers had the option to refile it.
Samantha Markle is seeking at least $75,000 for defamation. She is angry at Meghan’s comments in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, where she said she grew up as an only child, and the fact that Samantha changed her last name to Markle after Meghan started dating Prince Harry . Documents filed in a Florida court state that Samantha was portrayed as someone who wanted to hurt Meghan and make money from her.
