Kate Middleton and King Charles have been bombarded with letters of support after announcing their cancer treatment, People reports.
According to the Royal Household’s annual financial report for 2023-24 and other highlights of their official work, Buckingham and Kensington Palaces received 138,303 letters, of which 27,620 were addressed to the King and Princess Kate.
King Charles announced the diagnosis on February 5, and Kate Middleton announced the disease on March 22. Following the announcements, both members of the royal family suspended public duties: Charles returned to active work on April 30, while Kate only made public appearances at the Trooping the Color ceremony on June 15 and the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on July 14.
Kate Middleton expressed her gratitude for the support, stressing that the letters have had a positive effect on her and William during these difficult times. King Charles also admitted that some of the letters were so touching that he couldn’t hold back his tears.
