“With Pedro’s support and guidance, I had a lot of creative freedom, and now I feel that João is as much mine as he is his. I can’t wait for everyone to revisit the iconic Titanic nightclub with him,” says Guadagnini. The book will be released on July 19 in e-book format and is already available for pre-order. on Amazon website. Additionally, it will be available free of charge to Kindle Unlimited subscribers.
In the plot, João meets Lucas in the college library and believes that something will finally change. However, on their first date, Lucas leaves him when he meets an old love. Months later, João is given the mission to interview Luna Safira, founder of a queer shelter in Natal. This experience, which includes seeing the backstage of the Titanic nightclub’s Masquerade Ball, leads João to question everything he thinks about himself and to “leave the masks behind”.
Pedro Rhuas’ initiative to collaborate with other authors was inspired by international experiences. Literary collaboration allows for diverse perspectives and voices on a topic, enriching the narrative. “I wanted to experiment with creating a shared universe with new writers, something that is more common in fantasy literature. I believe this is a powerful way to enrich queer literature in Brazil,” explains Rhuas.

Guadagnini met Rhuas when asking for writing tips for another project and was thrilled to be invited, since “Enquanto Eu Não Te Encontro” is one of his favorite books. He describes the responsibility of creating a new story for João as his greatest experience as an author so far.
