Fitti launches “Ser Artista” celebrating the plurality of the Northeast

Fitti, an artist from Recife, Pernambuco, has just released the single “Ser Artista”, a unique combination of MPB with several influences that have shaped his career. The song came about spontaneously during the production of a show conceived by Rogério Alves and directed by Malú Bazan, which explores the artistic mission of an intergalactic being arriving on Earth.

The sound of “Ser Artista”, produced by Zé Nigro, is a fusion of influences from Fitti’s childhood and the culture of the Northeast, with references from artists such as Cátia de França, Zé Ramalho and Alceu Valença. The track includes the presence of the viola, recorded by Hugo Linns, the accordion and country harmony, essential elements in Fitti’s sound construction, and which are in evidence in the first track of his album.

“Meu Ser is a trans, non-binary artist, from the Northeast and Pernambuco. The references come from within, from my childhood, from my land in the Northeast. I felt it would be very important to highlight this in the first track of my first album,” highlights Fitti.

In addition to representing a little about what it means to be an artist, the single pays homage to various forms of art. “In the lyrics themselves, I bring manifestations such as dance, clowning, photography, singing, among many other artistic aspects that aim to move people, provoke important reflections (individual and collective) and seek, in fact, transformation for an ever better society,” comments Fitti.

The album “Transespacial”, which includes “Ser Artista”, shows the plurality present in Fitti’s mind. With influences from reggae, forró, rock, pop and other aspects of Brazilian music, each track has its own special flavor, reflecting Fitti’s plural and genderless identity.
