The Bahian singer’s new project hits music platforms, accompanied by a short film directed by Camila Cornelsen
“Fetiche” is a powerful and accessible work, which combines acidic lyrics and captivating melodies. On the EP’s cover, designed by Baco himself, a woman appears on her back, in bed, with a tattoo by the artist, symbolizing the complex relationship between desire and power. “I do not accept nor do I want to embrace the limitations imposed by history. I want to be in other people’s imagination for more than one reason, creating my own space”, says the singer and composer from Bahia.
The challenge of this EP, according to Baco, was to create soft instrumentals that allowed the public to appreciate both the depth of the lyrics and the repetitive and engaging musicality. “Smoothness is a rhythmic hallmark of this process”, he explains. With “Fetiche”, Baco seeks to offer a new look at his own image and that of those who identify with him. “I want people who look like me to not be limited to just one quality. This EP is about valuing all our qualities”, he praises.
