Dedicated to promoting experimental contemporary music, the schedule will be between the 14th and 20th of July between São Paulo and Minas Gerais
Focused on experimental contemporary music, CHIII values new languages of expression, focusing on projects that include electronic elements, the use of the voice as an instrument, synthesizers, noises and various layers that challenge the limits of traditional genres, proposing new perspectives on making and consuming music .
“Since the first edition, we have brought together, articulated and disseminated experimental music, serving as a catalyst for exchanges between cultural agents and contemporary musicians, both nationally and internationally, in addition to its relationship with other artistic areas, such as dance and visual arts”, says Manoela Wright, responsible for the curation, artistic direction and creation of CHIII.
The festival expands its activities and, for the first time, will have presentations in Campinas and Belo Horizonte, expanding the reach and impact of the event.
The program starts on July 14th with Venus Garland and Tetta (DE/BR) at the Municipal Historical Archive, at 7pm, offering a fusion between funk and the possibilities of the Theremin played with the tits. On the 15th, Diane Labrosse (CA) will give a workshop at Casa Líquida, from 6pm to 8pm. On July 16, Thelmo Cristovam and Rossano, accompanied by Sandra Coutinho and Saskia, will perform at the Mário de Andrade Library, starting at 8pm.
