The seminar “International Relations, Foreign Policy and LGBTQIA+ Rights” will be at the Wladimir Murtinho Auditorium, at Palácio Itamaraty
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (Funag), is holding today, the 25th, the seminar “International Relations, Foreign Policy and LGBTQIA+ Rights”, at the Wladimir Murtinho Auditorium, at the Itamaraty Palace. The event takes place during the celebrations of LGBTQIA+ pride month, in reference to the Federal Government’s efforts to promote inclusion and diversity.
The initiative reinforces the importance of debating topics and integrating LGBTQIA+ issues into foreign policy and international relations. It is the first time that Itamaraty hosts a debate with international and Brazilian authorities, MRE employees and members of civil society on the topic.
The debate tables will feature the expected participation of representatives from the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship, the Foreign Relations and National Defense Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, the United Nations, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and the International LGBTQIA+ Association ( ILGA), in addition to MRE servers.
The opening ceremony started at 9am. Afterwards, there will be three panels, which will continue until 1pm:
-Promotion of the rights of LGBTQIA+ people in international relations
-LGBTQIA+ representation in the construction of Brazilian foreign policy
-Inclusion, visibility and LGBTQIA+ participation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Those interested in attending in person can register at this link.
