“In addition to celebrating my journey, it is also an opportunity to revisit these songs with a new perspective”
This release is part of a larger project by Johnny Hooker, which aims to create new versions of his greatest hits. The project started with a remix of “Caetano Veloso”, and now “Cuba” takes on a new look. “This production is very important to me, as in addition to celebrating my journey, it is also an opportunity to revisit these songs with a new perspective,” explains Hooker.
Johnny Hooker expresses a special affection for “Cuba”, a song that stood out spontaneously in his career. “This song is very special and I couldn’t leave it out of this project. The idea of the remixes is precisely to rescue these songs that mean so much to me and my fans. Now, joining forces with other names that I admire,” he states.
For the remix of “Caetano Veloso”, Johnny Hooker counted on Brabo Music, a team of producers that works with Pabllo Vittar. The success of this partnership inspired Hooker to invite Pabllo to collaborate again, this time on the remix of “Cuba”. “When Pabllo agreed to record, we knew it would be special, but the result exceeded our expectations,” declares Johnny. He praises the artist as “a wonderful person, always generous and caring,” and highlights the unique energy that Pabllo brought to the track.

Marley no Beat, known for his bregafunk-style productions, also joins this collaboration, bringing a new rhythm and energy to “Cuba”. Johnny Hooker highlights the importance of working with Marley on Beat to explore new sounds and enrich the track with elements that speak to today’s audience.
Hooker expresses his satisfaction with the result of the collaboration, highlighting that working with Pabllo Vittar was an immense pleasure. “She brought a unique energy to the remix, and I couldn’t be happier with this collaboration. Pabllo is, without a doubt, one of the greatest artists we have,” celebrates Johnny, looking forward to the release.
