Federal deputy transcends controversy and beauty in editorial inspired by music icons
The strength of the federal deputy emerges from the extremes of her public life. On the one hand, his militant speeches move and reverberate inside and outside the Chamber of Deputies. On the other hand, she enchants at shows and festivals, always present where the people are, and in the front row of fashion shows. Her mission: demystify politics.
Almost four years have passed since she was elected the most voted councilor of the São Paulo City Council, in 2020. Two years later, she made history as the first trans deputy in Brazil and, currently, she is the first to lead a bench in Congress. “I play an important role, a position of responsibility in Brazil, but I have a CPF. I continue to have my subjectivity and I am sure that, through it, I have broken countless paradigms”, says Hilton.
Her popular image modernizes politics, showing that it can and should be pop, capturing the attention of young audiences and the LGBTQIAPN+ community. “My arrival at this place represents the processes from Xica Manicongo to today, going through everything we have been through as a community.” This is called representation.
