German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Berlin, along with its allies, will provide Kyiv with ammunition for this air defense system.
Germany, along with other allies, will transfer 100 missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. Specifically, 30 interceptors have already been deployed. This is what German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said in a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
The German official recalled that he recently traveled to Odessa and saw the consequences of Russian strikes on the city, and also announced a new military aid package.
“And especially after seeing how important Ukraine’s air defense is for safety, today I am pleased to announce the delivery of a significant number of Patriot interceptors – one hundred,” the German leader emphasized Defense Ministry.
Germany donated Patriot missiles as part of an initiative involving Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway.
“32 of these interceptors have been delivered in the last two days, and the remaining 68 will be delivered in the coming weeks,” Pistorius added.
According to him, such supplies will help protect Ukraine’s infrastructure and civilian lives.
